WHAT YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT POLYIBADAN 17/18 HND CUT-OFF MARKS

After the 2017/18 HND CBT Results was released on the 28th of September, without doubt, all candidates are anxiously waiting for the Cut-Off Marks and the question on each candidate mind is WHEN WILL THE CUT-OFF MARKS BE OUT AND WHAT WILL BE MY DEPARTMENT CUT-OFF?

We are glad to inform you that the committee on Admission Process met on Friday 6th of October according to the information gotten from a reliable  source who works as a Staff in the Institution.

With clear indication and based on adequate research, we can boldly tell you that the HND CUT-OFF MARKS for 2017/18 will be out next week between Monday 9th - Friday 13th.

Note that what determines the CUT-OFF Marks for each Department is the performances of candidates that applied to study in such Department. If most candidates that applied for your Department performed poorly, definitely the Cut-Off Mark will be low but if otherwise, it will increase.

Just don't count yourself out if your score was low, keep hoping for the best and be optimistic, you can't tell if what happened to Public Administration department Cut-Off Mark last year will happen to your department too.

You want to know what happened right? Ok, let me quickly tell you.

Public Administration Cut-Off Mark for 2015/2016 Admission was 72 but last year Cut-Off was just 44, imagine that.

Be optimistic and never never give up.

Summary of JAMB CAPS Sensitization Programme And Key Points To Note

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed in the just concluded sensitization programme on CAPS that apart from candidate's JAMB cut-off mark, there are other factors that determines whether a candidates gets admission.

These criteria comprise O'level result and other admission criteria the school may put in place.

Oloyede said that scoring higher than the minimum cut-off marks did not guarantee admission but made candidates eligible for admission consideration.

Oloyede mentioned that the cut-off mark by JAMB is only a threshold below which no institution can admit candidates.

Institutions have the right to determine their own general cut-off marks and departmental cut-off marks. However these cut-off marks must not be below the JAMB's minimum cut-off marks.

Explaining the responsibility of JAMB, Prof. Oloyede said "JAMB is not an examination body rather it is a ranking body. If there are enough spaces in the tertiary institutions there may not be need for UTME."

“JAMB is a screening body to rank already qualified candidates. It is a coordinating and clearing house and hence not a pass or fail exam" he noted.

Oloyede who asserted that Nigeria has the same admission process with countries like China, Iran, Republic of Georgia, Spain and Turkey, stated that the newly introduced Central Processing System, will ensure that every UTME candidate got fair treatment in the admission process, prevent "back door" admission by many institutions and make it easier to track and manage the admission process by all parties involved.

Other Key Points To Note

Candidates must upload their O'level and A'level (Direct Entry) results before they can be considered for admission.

The Central Admission Processing System makes it possible for JAMB to confirm/verify results uploaded by candidates from various examination bodies like NECO, WAEC and NABTEB.

In the Central Admission Processing System, institutions will login to their respective dashboards and set their admission criteria and equally set the percentage weight for each of the admission criteria.

The Central Processing System will calculate and rank the aggregate, composite or effective score of each candidate that applied to a particular school based on the admission criteria settings of the institution.

A proposed admission list would now be made available by the system which the school admission officer is to download and send to all the principal officers of the school for approval. If the school rejects a candidate on the list, a reason has to be given.

With the approval of the list, the final list of candidates is re-uploaded on JAMB portal. JAMB will now notified the candidates on the list of their admission.

Candidates are to either accept or reject the admission withing 72 hours (3 days).

If you reject the admission, your profile and details becomes available in the market place for other institutions that can accept the qualification you have for the course you intend to study to offer you admission.

Once a candidate accepts his or her admission. Such candidate no longer has the privilege to reject the admission and be scouted by other institutions in the market place.

HOW TO PASS POLYIBADAN HND CBT EXAM

HND CBT examination is few days away.
How are your preparations?
Have you even prepared at all?
Do you even know what to base your preparations on?
Are your preparations not off road?
Do you think your level of preparedness can beat the cutoff mark when the result comes out?

Dear applicants, your preparation should be based on three to four (3-4) crucial core departmental courses that you offered during your ND; these courses are significant to your course of study, that is why you will be tested based on them.As for Mass Communication last year, i could remember i came across questions in the following courses: Public Relations, Advertising and Precision Journalism. Most of our colleagues that took the test also confirmed it.

Dear applicants, what are your departmental crucial four core courses? Know them, go back to the notes and get prepared. They are cheap questions that you can pass, if you prepare well. They are cheap questions that can be passed, if you truly understand what you did during your ND.

In addition, Please study current affairs very well too and i believe by God's Grace, You will surely succeed.

I'm looking forward to seeing you being happy after the examination on 19, 20, 21 and when the results come out.
Goodluck!!!

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all candidates to re-upload their results on the JAMB Portal.

According to the information made available by JAMB via its twitter page at 6:28pm yesterday, all candidates are advised to upload their results onto the portal again.

Another tweet reads "uploading your O level results is necessary because the platform has been modified with provisions for input of exact grades and attachment"

All Institutions have been directed to ensure that candidates awaiting the release of NECO results are considered for their various PUTME

This means that NECO awaiting result candidates will be considered for admission

Such candidates are to indicate where required but ensure to upload the result once it is released.

We therefore advise all JAMB candidates to proceed to an accredited centre to upload their results.
