HOW TO CHECK IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR ADMISSION SCREENING OF YOUR INSTITUTION OF CHOICE.

Well Jamb 2017 is over and many have seen their results . The next big questions are; will your current jamb result fetch you admission this year? how do you know if you are even eligible for admission screening for your institution of choice? This article will help you answer most of these tough questions concerning jamb admission this year.

Now you know very well that the requirements for admission into higher institutions in Nigeria depends on the jamb score and o’level result. That is, WAEC, NECO, NABTEB. So, how do you know if you are Eligible for Admission Screening for your Institution of Choice this Year?

1. Check your JAMB result to know your score.
Your jamb score is a determining factor to admission. If your jamb score is high, you have a good chance of gaining admission. On the other hand, if your jamb score is low, you will have a lower chances of gaining admission.
So, check your jamb score to know your fate.

2. Know the cut off mark of your institution of choice
After seeing your jamb result, find out the admission cut off mark for your course in your school of choice. If you meet the cut off mark, then keep calm. If you don’t have the cut off mark, the consider changing our institution now.

3. Check your O’Level results
This is very important now that Institutions are using point system to give admission. This means that if you have an O’level results with good grades you have a better chance of getting admission. On the other hand, if you have lower grade, you will have lower chance of gaining admission.

2017 JAMB Change Of Course/Institution Has Started

We have just received information that the 2017 JAMB Change of Course/Institution Process has begun.

According to the reports we received, this process can only be done at the accredited CBT Centres.

Before you head out to check if this process has started at an accredited CBT Centre around you, please ensure the following;

—— Please ensure you do your research to ensure that the school you are changing to does not usually cut-off higher than your score.

—— That you can change one or all your courses/institutions at the same time.

—— That once the form is submitted, you can no longer make any changes again (or else the system has changed)

—— That you select a Course Institution that aligns with your subject combination. If you don’t do this, your school will screen you out. Please use the JAMB Brochure to verify.

——- There may be a limited number of schools or courses you can change to, so be sure to have 3 or 4 options, just in case the one you want to
change to is not available.

——- You could be charged about N2,500 to effect this change.

——- Please use the JAMB Brochure to ensure the course you are choosing is done in your choice institution.

If you are going for this service, please use the comment section to let us know how the process is going on at your centre.

——- That you know exactly the Changes of Course/Institution you would like to make changes to.

MALPRACTICE: OVER 10, 000 CANDIDATES CAUGHT IN ANAMBRA STATE -says Jamb

The Joint Admissions Matriculation Board says more than 10,000 candidates caught for examination malpractices in the on-going UTME in Anambra have been handed over to appropriate authority.

The Coordinator of the board in Anambra, Mrs Lynda Nwachukwu, disclosed on Saturday that the all computer-based testing mode 2017 UTME, which started on May 13 in 642 centres nationwide, ended on May 20.

Nwachukwu said that the examination, which took place in 28 centres in the state, was successful.

“There was no disruption of the exercise in any of the examination centres,’’ she said.

The coordinator said that the candidates adhered strictly to the requirements of the examination, adding that JAMB provided all the materials required for the examination.

A correspondent, who monitored the last batch of the examination, reports that some parents complained of system failure in some CBT centres in the state.

Mrs Eucharia Okonkwo, a parent, said her daughter, who wrote the examination at the St Mary’s High School Ifite-Dunu centre, could not complete the examination due to the faulty computer and network failure at the centre.

According to her daughter, many candidates could not complete the questions in record time because of the faulty system.

Okonkwo advised JAMB to plan well for examination in subsequent years to avoid the technical hitches that could give the candidates psychological trauma.

Dr. Mose Mojekeh, Head, Department of Marketing at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, said on a telephone, that such system failure in UTME was not acceptable.

According to him, the hiccups could potentially deny young people from Anambra State, university admission.

Mojekeh advised JAMB to urgently collate the number of candidates affected and set another examination for them.

He also decried the practice whereby JAMB sends officials from one state to supervise examinations in another state.

“Experience has shown that such officials do not care much about the candidates when problems arise, as they leave them to their fate,’’ the lecturer said.

He called on the management of schools, whose candidates experienced the computer failure, to take their complaints to the State Ministry of Education to present their cases.

The JAMB concluded its CBT on May 20.
